New Zealand have Invited Aust. to compete in the 2010 North Island Team Mounted Games Championship
The New Zealand Pony Clubs Association Inc. has extended an invitation to the Pony Club Australia to send a team of five riders, a chaperone/ manager and coach to attend the North Island Team Mounted Games Championship on the 17th and 18th of April 2010.
The Championship will be hosted by Turangi Pony Club at their Pony Club Grounds in Turangi. Turangi is situated on the southern shores of Lake Taupo.
If Australia is in a position to accept the invitation the teams will fly into Taupo on Wednesday 14th April and return on Monday 19th April respectively. This will entail taking a connecting flight from Auckland International airport. Accommodation and ponies will be arranged by the Host Club. The Host Club will arrange transport, including to and from the airport.
The Championship will be run under the NZPCA Team Mounted Games Rules 2006 (available online at http://www.nzpca.org/new/rules/games.php ). Riders are eligible to take part until the end of the season they reach the age of 21 years. The season being from the 1st August until the 31st July the following year. Rule15(h).
Team coach is Sean Corbin from Western Australia and Team Chaperone is Anne Cotton from Tasmania.
